Tim “Tex” Merrell is a pilot
for a major airline and a retired United States Air Force officer with
24 years of leadership experience in multiple disciplines to include
organization, management, requirements development, international
relations, operational training, evaluation, testing, and tactical
aviation. During his Air Force career, he accumulated over three
thousand three hundred flying hours in the F-15 and F-22/A aircraft with
assignments in the United States, Europe, and Asia. He commanded at the
squadron and group level and was responsible for over nineteen hundred
individuals executing an annual flying program of 17,000 sorties with a
$10 million budget and assets valued at over $2.3 billion. His depth of
flying experience and breadth in personnel interaction gives him a rare
perspective into the airline interview process.
Tim developed extensive interview skills during his military career in
the process of hiring leaders into his organization. That experience
blended with his personal airline interviews and hiring sets the stage
for clients successfully earning that coveted airline job offer.
Tim’s undergraduate degree is from Baylor University in Mathematical
Science and he has two masters degrees in Aeronautical Science and
Strategic Studies. He is a graduate of the USAF Air Command and Staff
College and Air War College. His training includes the USAF Safety Board
Presidents Course, Senior Leaders Maintenance Course, Operational Group
Commanders Course, and Fighter Weapons Instructor Course.
He has been married to Lynn Lockhart of Kerens, Texas for 24 years and
they have two daughters, Rachel and Katelyn. The Merrells enjoy camping
and Lynn actively trains their three border collies in obedience,
agility, and herding. Tim is a member of the Bay County, Florida Chamber
of Commerce.
