Dan “Disco” McSeveney is a pilot
for a major airline, and has a broad range of experience both in and out
of the cockpit. After graduating from the University of California at
San Diego in 1993, Dan was employed in the Human Resources industry
where he interviewed a huge variety of people for his clients – the
prospective employer. This background has given him a great feel for the
various strategies that employers use to evaluate candidates, and how
candidates can show themselves in the best light during an interview.
Dan joined the Navy in 1996, and spent over ten years flying the FA-18
Hornet and Super Hornet. He logged over 1800 hours in the military, and
flew combat missions over Iraq and Afghanistan. Dan finished up his
active duty service with a tour at the Navy’s Operational Test and
Evaluation Squadron in China Lake, CA, where he led teams of engineers
and analysts in test projects with combined budgets in excess of $3
million.
Dan currently flies the MD-88 for a major airline and will soon be
flying the 767 out of Salt Lake City. Prior to his current airline
position Dan flew the A320 for another major airline. His experience
working for several major carriers gives Emerald Coast an insider’s
perspective few others can match.
Dan married his college sweetheart Lisa in 1998, and they have a
wonderful son named Connor. In their spare time, the McSeveneys enjoy
snowboarding, family outings, and spending time at the beach.
