Alison
Garrett knows what it takes to operate effectively on both sides of the
interview table. With a distinguished advertising career spanning the
mediums of radio, print and television, she has honed the skills
necessary to get in front of the decision maker and walk out with the
deal. Alison has also been tasked with the recruitment and development
of an effective sales force and team, and brings first-person knowledge
of what it takes to excel in a professional interview.
Alison has had extensive sales and marketing experience in several
of the most exciting and dynamic markets on the East Coast. She won
multiple sales awards and managed several million dollars worth of
accounts as an Account Executive for WXTC Radio in Charleston, SC in
1990. In 1993, she took the position of Advertising Director for
GulfStream Communications, publishers of Charleston Magazine, House
Calls, and The Music Farmer’s Almanac. As the top advertising producer,
she was quickly given the responsibility for managing the sales staff
for all three publications. Possessing a keen ability to analyze
personality types and skill levels, Alison was responsible for the
recruitment and hiring of an effective sales and support staff and has
spent many hours as an executive and sales force recruiter and
interviewer.
Moving on to the nation’s highly-competitive number 7 television
market in 1995, Alison joined News Channel 8 in Washington DC. She
excelled in this new market and medium and was awarded Salesperson of
the Year in 1997. While performing and was Sales Manager duties she
closed the largest deal in the station’s history in 1998 with a contract
of nearly 2 million dollars – a record that remains unbroken. Alison’s
tested techniques and ability to both communicate effectively and
produce sales in the high pressure environments make her perfect at
helping clients develop their own “sales pitch” in competitive major
airline interviews.
In 1999, Alison and her husband, Steve started ProMotions, Inc., an
advertising and marketing company specializing in the use of promotional
logo products. The company rapidly signed six-figure accounts including:
• The Heisman Trophy (exclusive licensee for all Heisman Trophy logo
products)
• UPS, and The U.S. Postal Service
• Numerous Heisman Winners’ Charity Golf Tournaments, including:
• The George Rogers (USC) Celebrity Golf Tournament
• The John Cappelletti (Penn State) Charity Golf Tournament
• The Jim Plunkett (Stanford) Charity Golf Tournament
• The Joe Bellino (Navy) Charity Golf Tournament
Alison is the mother of three boys, Rhett - 2, Will – 6, and Trey -
17. The Garrett’s live in Charlotte, North Carolina on Lake Norman.
Alison is now a licensed NC Real Estate Agent and private real estate
investor. She graduated from The University of North Carolina at
Wilmington with a degree in Business. She is also an FAA-Certified
Corporate Gulfstream GV Flight Attendant.
